In the UMCWc program, Friday afternoons
are set aside for trips to tour important government
offices, historical sites, landmarks, or other attractions in
the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas.
Examples of possible trips include tours
of the FBI building and the State Department, shows at the
Folger Shakespeare Library or the Kennedy Center, and chartered
bus trips to Monticello or Mt. Vernon.
Through these trips, participants in the
Washington Internship program will get to know Washington and
the surrounding area. Additional trips may be scheduled as
components of student courses.
